Default NFL Shots: Texans vs various teams

I have a regular gig shooting Texans home games for a national media conglomerate that has offices in Houston. It's an incredible experience being able to shoot on the sidelines. I've shot almost all home season games so far and look forward to shooting the final four home games that are left.

While I really love basketball and shooting NBA action, there's something about getting NFL shots that almost trumps basketball. I love both sports but the NFL action is addicting.

I usually shoot with 3 cameras, my Rebel XTi with a 24-70mm f/2.8 L for those rare very close shots, my Canon 5D with my 70-200mm f/2.8 L and my Canon 5D Mark II with my 300mm f/4.0 L. I also bring along my 15mm f/2.8 fisheye. While I'm not cracking off 12fps or shooting with a 400 or 600mm, I still manage to get by and get shots that my client is happy with.

Here are a few of my recent shots.

+1 I couldn't imagine shooting from the sidelines.. That'd be nuts!

Green with envy. I wouldn't think of the 5D for football but your shots prove that it works.
