And just wait till you see the macro - outstanding. I think it is possible to focus and get a good clear shot from 1cm. Then when you get bored of that, check out the low light mode.

Macro, frankly, sucked on my S90. I've used Super Macro on the X10 and it's pretty sweet. I still need to try low light mode. In informal testing, I've found pixel-binned (SN) 6 MP images at ISO 1600 and 3200 to be slightly cleaner than downscaled full-res (HR) 12 MP images at those ISOs. And even the HR shots are darned clean.

My brother still has his S90 - over Thanksgiving maybe I can conduct some more controlled comparisons between the two.

Don't do it. You might upset him when he sees how much better the x10 is! I took mine to work, and a lot of the guys are keen photographers, but due to the nature of the job, as helicopter pilots, a large camera is not very practical but now quite a few are very keen on getting the x10 to play with. The perfect travel, discreet, camera offering high quality results.

And as I mentioned, the macro is not bad at all. Here are a couple straight out of camera, nothing done except for a bit of cropping the edges away.

It pains me to say this, but I'm considering returning my X10 until (or if) a fix for the "White Dot Syndrome"/circular specular highlight issue becomes available. Since my X10 shipped from Amazon.com on Nov. 12th, I should be able to return it for a full refund until Jan. 31st, per their extended holiday return period policy.

I'm in the same boat but haven't been too upset about the occasional dot. I figure they'll either have it fixed by January 31st or they won't and I'll either return it or I won't. I'm almost hoping they don't fix it so that I can pick up a refurbished one at a great price.

I got my X10 yesterday and yes it does have the white disc issue but I am not returning it. Everything else about the image quality is so good especially high ISO.

Here is my Fuji X10 taken by an 8 year old Canon S70 point&shoot digicam.

Here are my Fuji X10 sample pictures. I am still learning to operate this gadget. =) Sorry, I did a bit of LR3 effect...

Do you have a sample of white dot syndrome your are talking about? I just got my X10 today and I have still few weeks to return at BESTBUY if needed.
