I think a good step forward would be to make sure you're getting some light in your babies eyes.
You should really take the time to learn your flash...It's really not that difficult to use it in basic ETTL mode and it can make a huge difference in your photos if used properly.

You mean getting closer to my baby, and zooming out the lens?

I tried couple times using the flash, but pics came out really ugly. - i was gonna post them too, but the forum only allows me to post 8 pictures.
