I love Crown Center. And, I'm surprised no one has posted shots of Gates BBQ yet. That place would have interesting subject matter...lol. I also like how these threads start to bring people together in the same areas.

Straightening...lol. Every time I straighten the horizon, I hang the picture crooked.

Miller Nichols Library is unique to Kansas City also as I do not know of any other buildings
that have architectural artwork like it has

Interesting find kscuda. I have never seen this location before.
I went out the other night to get a few new night pictures and got this view of downtown from the Scout monument.

Dedsen, great shoto from the Kc scout.. I don't want the thread to drift but have to point this out about Penn valley park and the area of KC scout.
The area is known for its seedy underside part of life where drug deals and male prostitution happen. There was an article in the pitch about that area of the park
http://www.pitch.com ...do-it/Content?oid=2195277external link
There is a skateboard park in Penn, and I personally have been solicited for drugs and sex by male prostitues while in that park, my friend was actually robbed while at the park for his wallet and a CD player.
I would advise that while at the KC scout that you pay close attention to your surroundings and travel with a group. Like wise if shooting at Rosedale memorial arch as that area has been claimed by MS13 gang!

The place was deserted when I was there but I definitely felt better having a friend there to watch my back when looking thru the camera. But then again, this is usually the case when shooting at night in any urban location. It is too bad that it has gotten to this point.

It is bad that the park is that bad, whats really bad is kids are dropped off at the skatepark by parents that don't know about the activity going on just accross the street from the park..
Anyway, the photo is awesome and I really like the Kaufman center glowing in the back ground!

Nice picture from KC Scout, and thanks for the heads up about that area. Have seen other
pictures from there also and had thought about trying to take some myself but since I normally go alone, will put it off until I have some friends with me

I guess we need to give the Kansas City area on the north side of the river some equal time too. :)
This one is from a couple of years ago when we had all the snow. It is at Shoal Creek Living History Museum. There is a very nice collection of older buildings and admission is free.

Nice shot Dale. I've also heard about the KC Scout area and the Liberty Memorial area at night. Shooters be warned.

How about some heavy reading? This is the wall of the parking garage for the downtown public library.

Dale, great shot of the library parking lot!!!!! When I drove by it last year I said I was going
to come back and take pictures of it but had totally forgot about it until your picture. Neat how they incorporated the books into the look of the parking lot
