Hi everyone. I'm a relatively new photographer, got the 60d as my first "real" camera. I've got the Tammy 18-270 and a couple primes. I love the camera, the only thing that really bugs me is the stupid live view flip screen, one of the reasons I chose it over the other 2. I thought I would love it for capturing the really cool shots (camera at ground level on the sidelines as my son makes a TD, over the head shot, etc) you know what I'm talking about. But with live view 'on' it really slows down the shutter. Outside it may be a couple seconds late. Inside it usually won't even take the shot. Shut it off, look through he viewfinder, same shot, same light, picture taken. Obviously I nearly always prefer the viewfinder anyway, but for those other shots, what am I doing wrong?

That is because of the auto-focus. I suggest reading your manual where it talks about auto-focus in live view.

If you want it to focus faster when in live view, instead of AF LIVE, put it in AF QUICK. What it'll do is when focusing, it'll switch live view off, focus as it would normally using your focus point than switch live view back on. Works well

It's awesome. But somehow it has a whole lot of CA (Chromatic aberration) on the 60D. Like really.





Usually I ain't bothering with CA, but when it's visible without zooming in, on camera and to friends/family that do not know photography at all, it quite becomes a problem

Just got the 60D last week - it's replaces my 450D. Spent Xmas on the beach getting used to the new body.
