Default Photo a Day Project - Which Site to Use?

I'm going to do what a lot of folks try to do - post a photo per day for the whole year.

Just wondering what some folks would suggest for a site to use?

I'd like to be able to see all the images in a grid at some point, and geo-tagging/maps would also be neat. An iPhone app / easy way to upload is essential.

Default Re: Photo a Day Project - Which Site to Use?

I use flickr, my website, and my photography FB account. Tumblr I use for my street photography project, I just post my images from flickr to Tumblr.. I'm not sure if Tumblr lets you upload large images.. never checked into it.

I post some of my 365 photos to 500px, but usually only the best ones.. The quality is so high on 500px, I don't bother putting them there unless I think the photo is really good.

Wordpress might be OK, I haven't used it in a long time, but I never really found a good solution to posting images, and you could run out of space on your host pretty quickly depending on image size, so you'll probably end up linking from one of the bigger photo sites anyway.

Overall if you're looking for ease of use, flexibility and community, Flickr is the best IMO. You'll want a pro account (~$25/yr) otherwise I don't think it'll show more than 200 photos or so at a time.

Default Re: Photo a Day Project - Which Site to Use?

My Flickr is currently set up to show my best/fav photos for the most part and I have a pro account. My 500px is the same, though I haven't even really set it up - there are only three photos on there.

I host my own sites, so webspace is no problem with WordPress, but it's not as simple/friendly as Tumblr.

I want one spot that is just the 365/366 project. I will still update my photo blog/Flickr/500px with my best photos. Though I could turn my Flickr into the 366 project for the year as an option...
