that B&W is nice!

you have "image editing ok", so I decided to see what happens when I processed the color version.

http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/9...b2463a4oed.jpg
I adjusted the color balance (-80, -23, -8) and added contrast (+100), then went on a slightly convoluted path of stamp visible (CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+E), set layer to soft light, stamp visible, set to linear dodge, duplicate layer (so linear dodge x2), hide previous (soft light) layer, stamp visible, set layer to hard light, hide previous linear dodge layers, stamp visible, set to linear dodge, hide previous (hard light) layer.

That convoluted process was to enhance the brightness of the stars. There are probably better ways of going about that.

If you don't want to do that, adding +1 exposure will separate the sky from the trees. Or if you don't want to add enhance the stars too much, stopping at the first linear dodge (still hide the previous layer) would work too. You may want to add some exposure because the image may still be a bit dark.

This is what stopping at the first linear dodge, and adding +0.5 exposure would look like...

Edit: I swapped the image/links around since I prefer the less processed version more now that I'm comparing the two...
