Default DXOmark and the Best Camera

How are we to direct this data? Upon further reading, it seems as though the S100 is the top overall camera(advanced) currently in the market. Does this DXOmark hold merit in real world? How do they come up with their rankings and scores?

Interesting, as their scores generally hate Canon DSLRs. It is a series of lab tests using their own parameters, so take it at that... I do really like my S100 though!

DXO's explanation of the scores: "All sensor scores reflect only the RAW sensor performance of a camera body. All measurements are performed on the RAW image file BEFORE demosaicing or other processing prior to final image delivery. DxOMark does not address such other important criteria as image signal processing, mechanical robustness, ease of use, flexibility, optics quality, value for money, etc. While RAW sensor performance is critically important, it is not the only factor that should be taken into consideration when choosing a digital camera"

for this reason, people usually disregard dxo's sensor ratings. the scores do not represent the actual image you will see when you take a photo.

these are sensor comparisons, how the camera processes its images changes everything. of the bunch. from actual photos, the s100 would be on the bottom with its flat color reproductions while the x10 would be on the top with its vibrant and constrasty images. optically, i think the fuji is better too. that helps with the color reproduction. of course youre paying $200 bucks more for the x10.
