For sure, compared with a store local to where you are. But if you were in NYC and came into the Adorama store, you'd find that many customers are welcomed in by name.

My point is, that while we have a successful online presence, we can't even dream of the buying and selling power of Amazon - which is why we can't offer free shipping the way that Amazon does.
However, what we offer which Amazon doesn't, is a passion for photography - and I hope, no less passionate than your local store.

If I don't buy used from the forum here, I buy new from Adorama! A bit off topic though....

Well your policies don't say that you can get shipping label for returns. Here's what it says:
--------------------------------
Securely package the product and include the filled out Return Merchandise Form and a copy of the original invoice.
Ship the parcel back to us freight prepaid. We do not accept COD or freight collect shipments. We recommend a shipping method that provides tracking and insurance.
Ship to:
Order Processing
7 Slater Drive
Elizabeth, NJ 07206
Items that qualified for free shipping that are being returned will have our standard shipping charges deducted from refund or credit. The return shipping cost (the cost to send an item back to us) is not refundable.
--------------------------------

Is there a second meaning for the underlined part? Or maybe you meant the statement above that free (original) shipping won't be deducted when returned for functionality issues?

I would buy cameras, lenses and accessories online like Adorama than local store like Samy's Camera in Santa Ana that treats customers unprofessionally. I swear never stop by there anymore.

You're absolutely free to walk in Adorama (or B&H, etc.) to have beers with the salesmen and clerks there. Good luck doing that with Amazon...

I think it means RETURN FOR REFUND though it's not clear. If you're exchanging a defective item, I believe you won't pay any shipping.

Still nothing said about it in the policy, at least I cannot find it. There're special instructions for damaged shipments, but exchange/refund seem to be treated the same (again from what's written, I don't know what would happen if you were to call customer service).

Maybe to avoid abuse of the system.......? but if you email me directly: Helen@adorama.com with your order number, a brief note about the problem which necessitated the return and attach a copy of the return shipping receipt I should be able to arrange something for you.

Correct. If an item is damaged and you contact me or CS before sending it back you'll be sent a pre-paid label to return it.

I'm from Germany, and thus I don't have the Adorama option. But since you're working for a retailer, maybe you can tell how often 3rd party lenses are returned due to strong front/backfocus (not adjustable on budget camera bodies) or simply due to sharpness issues? Reading some posts, I fully expect to have to exchange something like the Tamron 24-70/2.8 multiple times before I end with a good one...

I don't know the figures - but often enough that we decided to set up this trial period of testing prior to shipment.

I would actually rather post my "test" shots here as I believe this particular thread is for discussion and evaluation of the lens. The other thread is for those that actually trying to take nice shots with their lens...

Here is another series of test shots.

As with before, I will post one reduced-in-size (1200x800) SOOC picture with the pertinent EXIF data added in red text, followed by a 100% crop or two from the photo.

-All photos were taken without flash, no tripod, hand-held.
-No USM used in Photoshop.
-Taken as JPEG, saved "for web" as JPEG.
