Default 2012: 3 lenses down and 3 more to go

Since 2000 Canon has released 6 lenses or less in a given calendar year. With the the version 2 24-70, 28/2.8 IS and 24/2.8 IS being announced Canon has at most 3 lenses to go.

For those who dont believe me here are the number of lenses per year

2000 - 6
2001 - 3
2002 - 5
2003 - 6
2004 - 5
2005 - 4
2006 - 4
2007 - 4
2008 - 4
2009 - 5
2010 - 5
2011 - 4

I am hoping that Canon would decide to release the updates to the 35L and 135L.

Well I'm no good a guessing the future (that's why I don't gamble - lol) but I "hope" the next announcement is a 35/1.4L II. (smile)

Well you can at least count on the 200-400mm w/1.4x to be released before the Olympics one would imagine with them quickly approaching.

This^

35L and 135L are "due" for replacements, but I think canon may hold out a bit on them since they are no slouches in sales. The 35 update is more believable though.

Just you wait. It'll be these 3:
25mm 2.8 IS USM - $850
26mm 2.8 IS USM - $800
27mm 2.8 IS USM - $800

I take it the new 24 and 28 were not to your liking! (LOL)

New 50L will probably clock in at $2100 I'm not sure if I want to see that. I suppose if they can completely eliminate focus shifting... then perhaps...

Phase One iQ260 and iQ280 wanted - one for long exposures, the other for high resolution. Can't offer kidneys, but willing to trade for belly fat.

I'd like to see a new L-quality short telephoto (85mm, 100mm, or so). Something more affordable than the 85 1.2, but with better IQ than the 85 1.8, would be a step in the right direction, in my opinion.

Be nice if they finally got around to updating the 100-400, but I'm not holding my breath.
