Wow, I can't believe the bargain. For only $7.99, you get 1-8x10, 2-5x7, 4-3½x5, and 16-wallets. Plus: No Session Fee!

Or... you can just come in and get a free 10x13 wall print with no session fee either.

And I thought Craigslist had lowballers. This is a bit ridiculous.

Loss leader. They are hoping you come for the cheap photos, and buy a new couch, some ugly clothing, or a set of craftsmen wrenches on your way out.

One of my friends tried similar BS from JCPenny and I can tell you pics were really bad. My friend doesn't know a thing about photography so I guess that was a good deal for him.

I know more about gear than I know about photography :p

They do this to get you in the door and the package is so limiting in options that you are practically forced to upgrade. WE did a $20 special of one of these at Target a few years back and we couldn't use our favorite shot with the package for some reason mentioned in the fine print. It ended up still being cheap, but closer to $75.

Figure that the store is already paying rent for the whole building and the photographer is just a button clicker (camera and lights and everything pre-set up by someone and not changed), and it is not like they have any overhead. You are paying for 20 minutes of labor at $12/hr and some cheap printing.

When I was a baby up to a little kid, my mom drug me to every one of these things she could find. I have oddles of 8x10 and bigger prints of me but no small ones of the same poses. I guess a few people really do go in just for the no sitting fee-free print gimmick.

I'm curious if I take in my own image and ask for my free 10x13 what they would say lol.
