I agree with most here on this...but...if ya think about it 800.00 for stinkin point and shoot...it should come with the manual....try and figure out the AF on the 7d with out the manual

But it does come with a manual, just not a printed one. In this day and age we all have smartphones, so surely carrying a searchable PDF on it for reference is much more convenient?

I'm sure at some point lantern or David Busch or someone will publish a "how to" aftermarket users manual/book that is way better than the factory info anyway . Keep an eye on Amazon .

Some comments a bit harsh guys , having a manual is nice when you're new at it .

So what your saying is when I pick up my new 1DX it wont come with a manual...thats BS...oh I forgot that would cut into the share holders profit...thats sad!

In this age of digital media, I applaud Canon for going greener and saving some trees, not to mention the huge amount of energy it takes to manufacture paper. Why not just download the PDF to your smartphone and view it there?

+1. Props to Canon for not printing out a thick 250 page manual which probably won't even be opened by a good deal of buyers. Talk about a waste of paper! My 2 cents.

I actually went to the trouble to download the manuals for everything available in my gear list to my iPad. Didn't take long, it's a better option, etc.

I'll admit, at first I thought people were being a little harsh, but if you're seriously complaining that the camera is junk because it doesn't come with a printed manual, then I truly feel for ya.
