Default What Wedding Book?

I want to learn about doing weddings.

What's a good book to tell me about:

1. Photo Tips and techniques.
2. A section on protocol, pitfalls, contracts, success tips, etc.

Thanks!

You're not going to learn all that from a book, maybe from a few books, plus work experience with a working pro. The wedding book from lightingmagic.com is a good start, as is their studio forms book, also the book called something like "the best of wedding photojournalism".

Thanks, I'll check it out.

Gotta start somewhere. Just trying to avoid at least a few potholes. .

I'm collecting printout of existing wedding shots I really like, reading wedding threads and sites, and hearing horror stories about failed attempts. Will likely sign up for some classes.

Anyway; I don't plan to quit my day job any time soon. Just an outlet for supporting this habit with some weekend work, not to mention the huge incentive to get better quick.

Most likely spend a year or two as someone's helper for a pittance - to build a portfolio and the experience you mentioned.

Appreciate the feedback Tim.
