Just wondering because come this spring I think it would be great to setup a day for people to meet shoot and hang out for a day. I don't know where the best place would be, so I guess getting every ones opinion here would be the best. Has there been a NY meet in the past?

I'm about 3 hours from NYC, but I'd drive out for that. Sounds good.

We'd setup a prime location so every one can meet up without driving ALOT, and also a place that offers the most for us to do comfortably.

It's a good idea. I've been dropping hints now and then, with few takers. I'm in, let's do this!

Come spring time, that way every one is comfortable and not worring about freezing and such. Central part sounds pretty good, does any one have any other ideas?

Hi Guys,
I'd be up to meet some folks who enjoy photography. Downtown area around Pier 17 is nice, you have the Brooklyn Bridge, the South St. Seaport, the Battery and of course the free Staten Island Ferry. I work on boats that travel the waters around Manhattan so I'm inclined to be near the water. Rich |

I'd love to do it. Count me in. I'm 50 miles north of the city, a one hour drive. I'd even host it at my house, which has a 4,000 acre park behind it for nature shooting. I'm a member of a car forum and hosted the first get together of owners of the same model as me. It was a blast, with everyone meeting for the first time, 15 people actually, and everyone contributing food to a bbq. Let's do it. |

Lost Doggy, is that the garden at the northeastern section of the park, near 5th Ave? That would be a great place. MDJAK, that would be a cool idea - I don't have a car though, I hope your place is accessible by train/bike.
All good ideas. We don't have to confine oursleves to one place though. We can meet up and walk the strrets of Manhattan. I'm not sure though if NYC is ready for a pack of photographers wielding big cameras and lenses.

Metro North Harlem line to the Katonah station, and then 7 miles due east.
