How do you think I could help out this BW conversion? I'd really like this photo in BW for a family photo wall, but I can't seem to get it right. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

I think it's great too. Depends on your goal though. Do you want something with the perspective or something more intimate? If so, I would just tighten up the crop some.

Yes - tightening the crop on the black & white would make it 1,000 times better even though it's pretty great as it is!

I love the full blown scene though for the color.

I think you did well for what you started with. It's a bit flat looking and lacking a bit of contrast, but not much you can do about that. Some fill light probably would have helped the original shot immensely, especially given the person with the hat.
