Grabbed a few shots at sunset tonight. Liked the look of this image. Really looking forward to RAW support for this camera in ACR - hopefully, that's coming soon.

A few more test shots:
The Forty Pounds Floral Image taken indoors, no flash using 1600 ISO and low shutter speed, very little edge fringing at 200%, fairly satisfied with this one. ![]() FortyPoundsFlorals by Judder Hopkins, on Flickr The Balloon Man image was taken beyond its optical zoom range and into the digital zoom band probably around 8 x zoom, I did not keep an eye on the shutter speed which resulted in 1/25 sec on a slightly moving image, not satisfied with this one as there is artifacts on the skin and movement at 200%, created by Digital Zoom or Shutter Speed..dont know. ![]() BalloonMan by Judder Hopkins, on Flickr Crimson Curves taken in the same place as the Forty Pound Flora image, tested for exposure accuracy bright background dark foreground. 1600 ISO ![]() CrimsonCurves by Judder Hopkins, on Flickr

Very nice. On a different forum, someone asked about the G1X for landscape. I said, "had they existed, Galen would have used one." I can't think of a nicer easier to tote "system" for landscape.

In the meantime... I took this shot today as I was out and about. A lot clouds, and flurries coming down from those clouds in bands in the distance, which is why the sky looks a little odd (it's not the camera or lens - this is actually how the sky looked). Also added some vignetting in post. ![]() Life in the Country by Golfer Chris, on Flickr |

All are very crisp with nice colors. These might push me over the edge for a purchase.

I must say... I'm more impressed with the photographs from the G1 X than I thought I would be. I know it isn't a macro machine..... but the posts here have been clear and sharp.. and the colors are vibrant in a non-artificial way. Selah
