Yeh I do quite a bit, but it is a heap more interesting if you are in another country for some reason. Maybe it is the excitment of not knowing what is coming around the next corner.

I loved driving with no map, no gps in Oz, middle of the night 10 hrs into a drive, you go on roads in the middle of ****ing nowhere that are straight for miles.

Eventually we made it to our destination.

I certainly wouldn't mind spending a few years down in Oz for work.

Come on over Harm. The only problem is getting a work visa, it is hard and then you only get one bite at it. Once you've used it you can't get another one.

Speaking of drives in the middle of nowhere, out in the west where the red dirt country is best, flat as a pancake with nothing for miles and miles

Then every so often you come to a jump up (what we call a hill out west) and you get a bit of a long look at the nothingness. There is nothing for as far as the eye can see.

Every so often you come across where people have tried, and failed to make a go of it out there in the scrub

I just love that country, it has some sort of a special allure that just sucks you in and makes you just want to stay. It gets into your system and you can't shake it. Once you go you just have to keep going back and back again and again.

The rolling plains of wheat down the south west are also great value.

Getting the visa is easy. I would get it through work, or if I had to go is the points system, power generation engineers are always in demand. I was offered a position in brissie a couple of years back now, but we put that on hold for a bit. Maybe I we get bored later this year, we may try to come over later on.

No, it didn't. It simply said "Executive." Unless, of course, they broadcast something different to my TV. My wife and I both commented on it at the time.

Power generation hey, my brother-in-law is in that game, sort of, he is an engineer and works for a company that does the power station design (among other things). He is in charge of everything that goes under the ground, if you know what that means haha. He reckons it is better than being in charge of what goes above ground.

Thanks Lax, that one is down in South Australia. We just stumbled on it one trip.

You appear to be correct. My mind must have inserted producer where it actually sad executive...

I guess at least my mind did not insert "God"
