Well what a jolly time we had, weather and light was rubbish for the whole event, but the craic was great.
We followed an english tog around, but events conspired against us. My pics were ok,but at least I got see some very well driven, unique machinery in a great place,I loved the Ardennes ,the people and the grub was good. Got to be an Escort at Stoumont . ![]() No every day we see these,a Ferrari 308 GTB,group B,driven by Ex World Champ ,Bjorn Waldegarde . ![]() Escort Time, ![]() E scort in the fading gloom, ![]() Crowds and Togs get close, ![]() We were thrilled to see this fantastic S4 ![]() Last edited by chrispons : 29th of February 2012 (Wed) at 08:18. |

Really nice shots. I think I like the Escort with the lights the best. Great to see a Delta S4 rallying. I didn't know there were any still racing.

Ooh snow how I don't miss that....surely miss Europe though.
Chris what are the crowed controls like at this event? And you said 340 entrants what time range does the rally run (start to finish)? Don't know about the three muskateers shot.....but the escort has some nice sideways action happening to it. |

Crowd control was pretty good, but it is getting such a popular Event it is too much for one day,we only saw a fraction of the cars ,concentrating on the top runners. The top runners ,about 180 cars are in one rally ,which is not all about speed but is handicapped (dont ask me how it works) and the rest are in a slower event . It starts at about 9am ,one lot starting on different stages and swapping about all day ,about 8 in all,and can finish well after midnight ,all the time the locals get tanked up on Belgian Beer ,so it all gets a bit lairy. We got soaked and cold ,and "retired" about 6 pm to the warmth of baths, tukka and a few beers. There is miles between stages and it all gets very congested with traffic jams,as it all stems in and around Spa ,including servicing, with the odd remote service. Ideally it would take place over two days ,and two rallies. It was a terrific experience and we will go again for sure,a bit wiser . Pons |

Nice work Pons, some backgrounds are well known to me, I find to would be better if this event spread over two days.
Hope I can be there back to next year, perhaps as your guide @ my name is always taken, this event consists of two categories, regularity legend and classis with only "snow" tyres can be used, whatever the weather. All info can be found here http://www.race-rally.be/2012/bsl201...=february&sm=8

Some great shots in there !
Love the second and the fourth one. The Boucles is a great event, should be spread over two days as mentioned before. Just a shame it's becoming the victime of his own succes. First stage was cancelled due to too many spectators, and the last one was cancelled also for a while.
