ISO 25600 and 51200 look really good!

Can't really comment beyond that, since the aperture is getting a bit narrow (due to shutter speed limits).

Phase One iQ260 and iQ280 wanted - one for long exposures, the other for high resolution. Can't offer kidneys, but willing to trade for belly fat.

And the D800 is supposed to be within half a stop of the D4, taken as a whole image!

If ISO 18000 on the D800 looks as good as ISO 25600 on the D4...

I think I'll enjoy D4 better than D800 for my use. Speed kills.

Looking at the D3s versus D4 on image resource the D3s is still the low light champ

Comparing them at 25600 and 51200, the D4 displays more detail and less noise, even at the per-pixel level.

Then you need to realise that, to make a fair comparison, you either need to upscale the D3s to 16MP, or downscale the D4 to 12MP.

Either way, I'd say the D4 wins.

I would buy D800 with a wide angle lens for landscape photo and keep the Canon for other purposes?
