thanks for the responses everyone! the last photo scored me Canon Australia photo of the week actually. It was of a massive summer storm that hit. The guy in the photo is a videographer friend of mine shooting time lapse that night. Shot in my rear paddock behind my house, this was a single shot, the only PP was a small slide of the white balance to a warmer setting. I boosted my ISO to get the stars in a single shot without much movement and I just happened to score a lightning strike at the same time.

Love that last one with the stars and the lightning storm. That was a great capture.....two great shows in one shot....hehe.
