anyone else waiting for canon sx260 ???

I was thinking of canon s100 but now I will wait for the new sx260
I know that canon s100 is a great cam but I am a fan of zooooooooom compact cams.
So I think sx260 is my next toy .
Is there anyone else Waiting for sx260

I just purchased the s100 and love it. The sx260 looks great and has a big zoom. One thing I really like on the s100 is RAW, that's a big reason I bought it. It's a tough decision though.

I'll be very interested to see how the SX260 performs in terms of image quality,
but not as an alternative to the S100 - f/2.0, RAW and larger sensor included.
If RAW is what you're after (and the long zoom, of course), perhaps the F770EXR
by Fuji can do the trick. It even has a slightly larger sensor than the SX260.

I already went to buy SX230 and then decided to hold on untl SX260 hits the market.

Any idea when SX260 arrives in our hand.

Sometimes I do toss between SX40 and Sony DSC HX200V. Any comments?

B&H are saying: March 25th.

Regarding the HX200V / SX40 - I'd say the HX200V will win in video
(based on the performance of the HX100V) but the SX40 is highly
capable in every aspect and costs about half the price of the HX200V,
not to mention that the SX40 is already available and the HX200V isn't.

I'm always on the look out for a pocket super zoom. The SX260 may just be my next! Speaking of Fuji & shooting RAW, check out the FinePix F770EXR.

How is the picture quality of F770EXR when compared to canon say the existing SX230HS?

I was. We had been looking at the SX230 and the 260 was announced.
Thought we'd wait and see and the price came in at $349 which is a bit
more than was budgeted.

Came across an SX230 at Office Depot today
on clearance for $209 and with an additional
$20 off coupon it was a no brainer!

The 260 just isn't worth THAT much more IMO.

Glad we waited!

I just picked up a new SX260 and have to say I am pretty impressed. I also own an s95, 60d and 5d2. This will mostly be used by my wife and kids, but it packs in a lot of features and sample shots seem pretty good so far. If it shot raw, it would be a perfect travel zoom.

Picked up one today, very nice, like it better than the SX230 but then it should be at the higher price tag.
As I travel a lot, I was using the SX40 but that was a bit large for a work travel kit I'll see how this works out this week
