Can I join this group? Sounds like a lot of motivation, which I need right now. On Feb 13 I had an aortic dissection brought on by undiagnosed high blood pressure. Spent 8 days in the hospital before it came down to manageable levels. The upside of the ICU stay was that I was able to kick my 8 bottle a day Diet Pepsi addicition, thanks to 5 days of pain killers to help me thru the withdrawal headaches! LOL! So now I am on 4 BP meds, a low salt diet, drinking water and only having 1 bottle of Diet Pepsi a day. But I am still weak and tired, a walk around WalMart to get groceries wears me out. I have a treadmill, but haven't started using it again yet. I had lost 14 pounds since my hospital stay, but gained back 2 since Easter, thanks to the 1/2off chocolate Easter bunnies I bought! And I have lost 10% of my weight since December. My goal is to work in 10% increments, that sounds so much better than the total of 45-50 that I need to lose.

Just a tip for anyone who would like to take this advice.
Don't ever go to a grocery store hungry. You're apt to buy more foods that you don't need. Try going after dinner if you work a 9-5, or just go after a meal. It'll save you money, too! |

So I purchased a new pair or shoes yesterday and today my ankles feel fabulous. Wearing a pair of 2 year old sneakers is an issue I guess.

Take it from someone who learned the hard way-attempting to walk long distances at a brisk walk in Converse All-Stars is NOT a good idea-and I grew up with All-Stars...

I dropped from 272 to 253 (as of last week Dr. visit) in a little over a year. Mainly just with diet changes. I basically turned vegetarian about 5-days out of the week, eat a lot more veggies and fruits and basically live off morningstar products... and rarely go out to eat anymore (I avoided fast food before anyway).
But nothing else changed and the weight is coming off. Diet will make a big difference all by itself and you feel better too. Hoping to drop about 10-15lbs by end of summer |

I'll join in the chubby members wanting to lose weight team. 6'2 and 126kgs. Work rotating shift work and usually (scratch that, all of the time honestly) cant be bothered making meals for work, just buy rubbish.

I've officially been to the gym 6 times in 7 days. How do I lose the occasional food craving? So far food is my biggest challenge.
