5D classic owners, show us your 5D photos and talk to us about us why you love the 5D!

And for all the newbies and non-5D owners, may this thread help you in making your decision.

And for everyone who participated in the old thread: carry on as usual .

Trivia: this is the first thread in the gear forums ever to hit 10,000 [Edit: now 20,000!] posts and make it to its second iteration. Ironic, really, given how long Canon took to update the 5D.

**EDIT BY CDS***

We have a growing number of *Fan clubs revolving around specific bodies.
I thought I'd make a collection of them, so we can find them and keep them organized (merge in new ones etc)

The Master list is here

Feel free to point us to other models or threads that could be merged.

* WARNING: By posting in this or any of the linked threads you are wholly admitting in no uncertain terms that you are a snot nosed, milk drinking, knee biting, curtain climbing unabashed Canon Fanboy who's opinions must be taken with several large grains of kosher salt.

I enjoy the Canon EOS 5D MK I classic, because it offer very high quality imaging for the amount spent, and although it may be lacking many new amenities, it is hard to beat what it offers even today!
I have no clue how these offering could play out for a professional money making photographer, but for the layman amateur as myself, it is very capable of producing very usable photo's for the family, and anyone who may want to purchase with certain limitations due to lower, yet capable, resolution that it offers.
The canon 5D classic, as it is called, is a very easy to understand camera, that is limited by user experience of course. I have taken very nice photos,so i have been told, and with the right amount of likewise quality lenses, you are only limited by insecurity, as I personally have been known to do :(
I understand that there are many choices that could match, and even exceed the canon 5D, but for me, the available full frame, high IQ,size, weight, and Canon offerings is just right! I wish I could divulge a more accurate, and detailed explanation, but, if you are searching for a very excellent camera, with just the right amount of everything a professional could deal with, and an amateur could learn from, than this is it!

Just received my 5d in the mail and I'm wondering how you can set the aperture value in Manual mode without setting it to the 'slash' (or hockey stick) position. And what is the hockey stick mode for anyway? Do you people set it to that position all of the time so you can readily adjust the aperture (in Manual mode)?

Many thanks.

I'm not into hokey. I use this switch in the middle if I don't want accidental aperture change.
