I'm shooting the Dropkick Murphy's tomorrow night. I have the option of using the 5Dc or a 60D using the Canon 50mm f1.4 lens. I have never used the 5Dc for a show so I am worried about the ISO, I feel like there may be enough light to get away with using it, but as usual, coming to POTN for the expert opinions and experience I find here.
Thanks!!!

I used the 5Dc for a while shooting concerts and had SPECTACULAR results. I'm currently using a 60D. They're both great cameras for shooting concerts, and if I had the cash; I'd be using both.
I'm actually shooting DKM tonight! |

ISO is better on the 5D so thats not a huge concern.

I just shot DKM last week and if you can get a lens that is wider, you will be much happier. Many of my best shots were 17 -30 mm on a 7D. Fast focusing is also essential as those boys move around a lot during the beginning of the show.

The 50mm is what I have for now, I have shot them before so I know what I'm facing, but I'll get the shots I need, do what I can with what I have.

That's good news, I know the 5Dc is a great camera, but for some reason I had worries about the ISO vs. the more current 60D ISO. I'm a lot more excited at this point since it will be my first concert using the 5Dc. I'll post some photos later this weekend.

Joe, you will be fine w/ the 5D...in a pinch, even 3200 is good if you nail the exposure.

I love some photos from last night, will post some later. The limits of the lens is what killed all the fun, which was expected with a 50mm. First time in a concert with the 5Dc, such a nice little camera...
