San Jose Camera, they had kit and body only, total of 12 and there were a stack of them when I picked up mine. Give them a call in the morning and ask them to put one aside for you.

Man I hope Amazon does something quick it's almost Tuesday and there's still no updates. I got a HUGE nightclub shoot Wednesday and I could really use Mark III. My t3i not so great for low light

See, this is what I've said on other threads. Canon is distributing "shallow and wide." They're getting a few cameras even to the smaller stores, but aren't giving the large stores very many more. So it's better to be at the top of the short list at a small store than #500 at a large store.

I got mine today and my local camera shop in Tulsa Ok, Amazon still hasn't updated there status I have doubts the camera would of even showed up this week so I bit the TAX bullet and paid the $270 tax. O well it's a write off on next years taxes

You're right they are in! My local camera shop just got a lot in but they are all gone due to preorders! Should have more later this week he said

I just called Calumet Photo in Chicago and they definitely had them in already. If we didn't pay the highest taxes in the country, I'd go there right now and pick one up. However, someone please please explain to me how these small mom and pop shops (though Calumet photo isn't small) are selling them before BH, Adorama, Amazon, etc It make NO logical sense. The only thing I can think of is these small shops get a few in at a time, where as the big boys wait longer because their orders are MUCH bigger.

That's why I ordered with Amazon, I anticipated they'd be slow to fill my order and I wanted time to evaluate results while still holding a place in a queue.

Not sure that was a particularly good idea but it made sense to me at the time, knowing the previous fulfilment patterns.

By why? There has to be a reason behind this? is it simply because of the large orders they are receiving or because it's taking much longer for them to inventory them, unbox them, inventory, them, etc? Do you remember roughly how many Amazon or Adorama got in the first allocation? 200? 500? 1000?
