I upgraded from the t3i to the 5D mark III. It's a big upgrade for me and I still trying to learn all I can about the 5D mark III.

What are some good basic settings to start the 5D mark III off at . I have the 24-70mm 2.8 L lens & the 70-200mm IS 2.8 II lens.

Should I turn on NR ? Also how should I setup the focus any input would be appreciated.

What do you shoot? What you shoot will play a big factor in AF settings.

There's a 5D3 tips thread around somewhere which should have some good info in it for initial setups.

if any pros can list some settings to try out for tonight, I'd appreciate it.

I'm shooting indoor ice hockey tonight at the wells fargo center in phila, Flyers vs. Penguins game.

I'll be in a very low row for warmups. I will not have a lot of time to shoot and adjust. so I am hoping to get something dialed in that should work.

I was going to start with
iso 800?
1/800
1.8 to 2.2 ish
and work from there, unless someone with more experience can slap me on the wrist and correct me...

5d mark iii with either the 135L 2.0 or 85 1.8

af servo, with I assume a zone arrangment. not sure which of the 6 groups I'll use for the AF system overall, forget the terminology.

I've read that 22 page report on the AF system for the 1D - good lord it's a comprehensive system!
