Default Abandoned Urban Factory in Chicago...

I found this abandoned factory on Chicago's west side last week and did some exploring alone. Needless to say, it didnt last too long since being in the place alone freaked me out something crazy!!! I grabbed a few shots and headed out quickly!!!

After processing the images and falling in love with the look, I had to go back!! I asked around and found 3 other people willing to tag along for the next trip. I figured 4 people was a big enough group that we could be stealthy yet strong should any “situations” have arisen. After we all agreed on a day, we headed to the abandoned factory and did some more exploring. I definitely felt a bit more at ease being with friends this time!!

I have tons of photos left to edit still, but I wanted to share this experience with everyone!!! This facility is the one of the coolest places I have ever been to!!!

Pretty cool! Is this the factory visible from I55 that looks like it could be an old grain elevator?

Yes this is a great spot. I've been going there since I was a kid, and am very fond of it. I can say over the past 2 years there have been WAAAAY more people than I would like going there, but it's still a great area. More than anything watch out for the tankers on the river. They are known for calling security as soon as they see someone, then you get a nice visit from a white SUV. the last activity was 3 weeks ago for this thread. Last time i went up there (around that time), the scrappers had taken almost everything they could. be safe climbing up. Also The buidling off to the side, with the graff, is known as "Kings Cave" http://theblog.momentumarttech.com/2...ve-update.aspx be sure to read the interview with Emte. and subscribe to the blog if you have a chance.

Hi friends, I've been trying to get into urban exploration in Chicago. I think this will be my first mission. What should I expect? Where are the entrance points? How should I commute there? I would appreciate any information.
