hi everyone i am a noob at photography and i encounter an issue when taking photo of two subjects, one of them is focus and other is not, how can i have them both in focus ?
what did i do wrong? F/stop f/8 Exposure time 1/400 ISO 200 Focal length 60mm ![]() |

At that aperture, both should be in focus, unless you're really, really close to them. Try backing up a bit and reshooting?

60mm @f8 - looks like about 6 foot away. Should be about 10 inches of sharpness but the sweet spot will be close to the middle. A couple possibilities....
1.) You moved backwards slightly after focusing 2.) Your subjects moved back after focusing 3.) The back subject is in focus but you are seeing slight motion blur. (If he jerked or moved quickly) 4.) You focused on something closer to you. 5.) Your lens is front-focusing.

Not to hijack Javierz thread, would like to know if both the people will be in focus if I am say focusing on the boy & the mother? of the boy is slightly in front of him, there is no change in the settings of what Javierz has mentioned. Just trying to understand if that possible or do I have to make changes & try to do what kfreels has mentioned?
