I saw the thread below on exposing for dark skin, which reminded me of a problem I have here in India where I often shoot people during the midday sun. A couple of times I've ended up using my flash as a fill-in on the dark-skinned faces normally obscured by the usual midday shadows. I've got some good results and realise this could be the way forward for midday shooting. The only problem is my 430 flash unit is cumbersome, especially for the street/portrait stuff I do whilst on the hoof.
I'm considering the 270 flash unit as it looks more compact and lightweight. Because I'm in India I haven't yet got round to handling a 270, so I'm interested to know if it is that much smaller than the 430, and what other comments people have to this possible solution. Thanks in advance.
