i have a sigma 70-210 uc zoom f/4 for a pentax, and I decided to get an eos mount reversing ring for this lens. It is a macro/tele and I thought it was going to be functional as a good macro but when I reversed it I could only focus about 5 ft. away and thats it, no macro, and when I zoom it seems to go way out of focus , I have no idea what is going on with it. Are telephoto lens supposed to be reversed? What am i doing wrong?

A reversed 50mm lens gives around 1:1 mag and a reversed 28mm lens gives around 3:1. If you got a kit lens try reversing that. Brian v.

With a telephoto you're better off using close-up filters

You could also use extension tubes to let you focus on things closer using the magnification already in the lens.
