i have 18-200mm and 50mm 1.8 , just wanted to know which is better for cars photography
will the 18-200 at 200mm f/5.6 give me more dof than the 50mm at f/1.8 ? thanks

These images were generated with a Canon 60D, framed through the camera's articulating screen, using Live View. All of the effort in creating these images went into framing the shots. The camera handed everything else. |

Depends on how far away your background is. The 18-200 gives nice subject isolation if the background is far away, especially when you're farther away from the subject and zoomed in a bit on it (with the background far away), the 50mm 1.8 really isolate the focus point down very narrow. That 18-200 is such a versatile lens.

18-200 is a really underrated lens, especially at F7.1 or F8.
Use the long end & stand back you can isolate the background 7 compress it forward while cutting out any extras on the sdies.. Check my smugmug out. all my hotrod shots taken with my 18-200... Al
