Hey N&L peeps,
I Wanted to share 8 from a Sunrise like I've never seen before, it just had a Mars RedPlanet type of feel, pretty cool. I did take the vibrance down on a couple of them though. I posted this next text on my Facebook kind've explains how it all came about this day ______________________________________________ Last Saturday In preparation for my Next concert and my two Vacations this summer I set out to test out my new 7D further more, I had manual Adjusted the Auto Focus dot for my Canon 70-200Lf2.8 IS and Sigma 30 1.4 to my Camera body via ...a feature on the 7D to do this. I was waiting for a nice sunny day for extra contrast and colors to head to the Zoo to get some cool pics, I also planned to get up before sunrise and head down to the Maumee River to possibly get some Birds in Flight shots and give the 8 frames per second a workout with my new adjustments on the setups. wanted to do this cause of my RaceTrack days tracking the AMA superbikes, ALMS sportscars and NHRA events this year. needed to make sure I got it right. I think I did my keeper rate on the Ducks taking off were pretty good, and I was not as smooth at all tracking the ducks like I am at the race track soo I have some confidence going into the racing season this year. The 7D's autofocus is leaps above the 40 and 50D's I have. Soo birds and I also had planned to do a Timelapse video of the sunrise with my 50D, we'll I messed up the Timelapse when I got there as I forgot a simple tech thing to do, the Sun was rising fast and I could see was this remarkable fog being turned orange and yellow by the sun and alllllllllll these Fisherman just making it a Field of Dream for Fishing photography I had to pack up the 50D fast and start taking pictures ASAP before the sun gets above the fog! In processing these I could have gone cooler with the temps but decided to keep it a Warm feeling how I saw it unfold. I don't think I adjusted the White Balance one bit on any of these pics just reduced the Vibrance in a few the 7D did wonderful with White Balance this morning. A couple notes I captured a Geese fight, this time of the year as some might know the Male's are fighting for the right to mate with the females and this was once such encounter, I was way far away soo focus and quality of pics were not that great but the last shot you'll see the winning couple yelling at the unwanted male who tried to move in all the shots at the sunrise were with the 70-200 and %90 of the shots at the Zoo were with that lense too, the sigma was on the 50D the whole time you can tell the difference in Bokeh with that one in these shots. here's a couple Camera user tips, 7D users it comes from the factory in silent mode 1, well turn that off as its only 7 frames per second in AIservo, turning it off gets you to 8 frames per second,, and for all cameras if you shoot in Raw your Jpeg shown on the LCD screen for a preview is shown in the picture style it was taken in, usually set to (Standard) from the factory settings, well turn that to Neutral and the preview will give you a better sample of what your Raw's are gonna look like, that means you can adjust your exposure better on the fly and will give you less time post processing.. just a couple tips I learned before this trip out with the camera's. Most of the Zoo shots like most Zoo's in the country were shot behind Glass and through fences, the Gorilla shots at the end you'll see a good example of a Glass reflection, I had to work for the super clear shots. Its neat watching the Animals interact with each other, The primates especially, That Silver back Gorilla towards the end looks like he was praying for the food to be thrown well right before that, that gorilla was Sign Languaging the employee's above to throw that food(branches) down.. just Amazing.. I love the Zoo! http://www.flickr.com//photos/357202...60695694/show/ Have a Great week you all Cheers Capn _____________________________________________ OK POTN here's my 8 1. ![]() untitled-1939 by Steve Loop, on Flickr 2. ![]() untitled-1940 by Steve Loop, on Flickr 3. ![]() untitled-1946 by Steve Loop, on Flickr 4. ![]() untitled-1952 by Steve Loop, on Flickr 5. ![]() untitled-1967 by Steve Loop, on Flickr 6. ![]() untitled-1969 by Steve Loop, on Flickr 7. ![]() untitled-1970 by Steve Loop, on Flickr 8. ![]() untitled-1982 by Steve Loop, on Flickr Thanks for looking. Fantastic! All are wonderful, but I wish you'd crop out the guy on the far right in #6, since you weren't able to get him completely in the frame, which is regrettable.
