It's been a couple years since I first photographed these birds. It was fun to see them again and especially seeing them doing so well. More to come.

Canon 1D Mark IV | 500L (f4) | Wimberley II on Tripod set low.

Very cool, nice & sharp!
We have a ton of them up our way but I have only been out once in the spring to shoot a family of 5 chicks and their parents. It was so windy, all their feathers were ruffled :)

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Thanks very much everyone.

Maureen, the birds in south Florida were just beginning to gather nesting material from what I could tell. I believe summer is the time for seeing chicks near the burrows there. That would be a wonderful opportunity for some great shots, maybe one day.

Gail, thanks so much. It's been difficult for me to find time to post and shoot much for that matter lately. Medical issues for my wife and myself have taken priority. Things are improving, I hope it continues to.

Lovely capture Steve... I love the look of this owl... I imagine them as the "cartoons" of the owl kingdom. :) Hope you and your wife are back to 100% soon.....
