This photo could have been improved. Putting the horizon line near the middle of the frame makes this less interesting to me. Am I supposed to look at the yellow flowers/weeds or the dark sky? I can't tell because they are fighting for dominance in this image. I'd rather have 2/3 of this image yellow instead.

In my opinion, a longer lens may have done this scene far more justice. This seems a bit wide angle and puts the viewer too far away from everything.

You're probably right. That's why I stick more to birds/motorsport. As I stated earlier in the post, I haven't really got an eye for good landscape/composition. As for lens, I was on the way back from work I wasn't out for a walk looking to take landscape shots, my 300mm, IMO, would've been too much. Cheers for the input.
