Default My 2nd try at star shots...

I've been waiting for a clear night for over a week now, so when I stepped out onto my deck tonight and saw that there weren't many clouds out, I decided to give this another try. This time, I used my 50mm 1.4 wide open @ an ISO of 1600. This is only my 2nd try at this sort of thing, so any comments/critiques/suggestions for improvement would be welcomed.

Thanks for looking.

Well done for stepping out and giving it a go.
One thing I like about wide shots with a bit of thin cloud is the way it brings out the colors of the stars. You've got some good examples there.

Look good. You probably have some good dark skies there. I'd play around a bit with exposure times and see what that gives you......

Thanks...The skies are pretty dark where I live. But I can't wait to get up to the cabin that my parent's own on a little lake in the middle of the woods this summer. There is no light pollution according to the dark sky tracker and the amount of stars that you can see up there is amazing.
