Largish hoverfly Myathropa florea. First 3 shots natural light ISo1600. Last 3 shots full flash ISO200.

Terrific shots. :)

There's not a lot of difference in colour balance between the flash and the natural light. Is that achieved in post processing or do you use CTO/B gels or something similar on your flash?

Snowyman - re the colour, I shoot AWB but do normally drop the colour temp of flash shots to 5500'C during raw processing. In this case though I dropped the colour temp down to 4400'C to get a nearest match to the natural light shots.
