Most people here probably use an iPhone, but for android users, here is a fun app to check out.

I've been meaning to try this out, but need to figure out a way to connect the camera to my phone through USB. How would this affect battery usage on both devices?

Look up "USB On the Go" for connection.

As for battery usage, I have no idea.

I have the parts to build the IR transmitter for it I just have not gotten too it.
