Default Anyone use Photoshop for stacking Sunspots?

I have taken a whole slew of photos and I am thinking of stacking them to bring out some more detail.

I have regi-stax and Photoshop CS5 but I have yet to learn how to do it. Any tips? Did a quick search and didn't see this topic yet.

Not for sunspots, but if I sound ignorant, my apologies. I would say, though, that I don't see how this would help bring out detail in them. Sure, in shots with different parts of the subject in narrow bands of sharp the process yields continuous detail. I would expect it to smooth out the likes of noise, but...

I'd be interested to know.

I did some stacks of a sunspot years ago (when they were a rare thing). It was a white-light shot (through a solar filter) and stacking brought out the penumbra quite well. There was also some surface texture but that may have just as easily been an artifact. I used registax to stack and then curves & levels in CS3. Pretty much the same approach to stacking a lunar image.
I couldn't find it with a quick look but if I do, I'll post it here.

Don't expect anything like the H-alpha scopes get though.

Here is a good registax tutorial. But I've only used video for Registax

Yeah I think that is what I need is like a lunar stack tut! I want to use PS because of the size of photos.

Thanks if you can find that!

Found it. Must give it another go sometime. Maybe give it yellow/orange tint or something.
