A friend of ours asked me to take photos of their kids. Please give me any feedback that comes to mind. If you're wondering about the crops, mom loves square crops and most of these are also cropped for canvas wraps, hence the extra perimeter space.

Thanks for looking.

The white balance is definitely off in images 1-5 --- there is a noticeable green/blue/magenta color cast.

#6 I would work on the skin tones, the processing makes them look dirty/dusty.

#7 isn't a very interesting photograph and the background is very distracting, the lines don't compliment the viewer to look in the right places.

WB aside, I think #2 is a great photo though. I really like her expression =)

Really like the expression in #2.

One thing I noticed is that it looks like the eyes are over sharpened and brightened.

Besides that, nice job.

Thanks for the comments everyone! WB was certainly off in the first three, caught that before sending for print. Tweaked 4 and 5 as well. The photos on the white background looked fantastic B/W but mom insisted on color :(

In #6 it's processed with a sepia tone. I did three versions and mom selected this one, which I also thought was preferred. It was printed on metal and looked very nice.

Jason, I understand your comment on #7 but mom loves walking away shots. I probably could have set it up better but honestly this was at the end of the shoot and the girls were restless. I had to tell them to each stay on their side of the bolt pattern on the bridge deck...so they wouldn't get in each other's space

Thanks again!

No need to explain yourself, I understand completely! I photograph a lot of children --- sometimes you can only hope...haha =) Come to think of it, the little girl on the left looks like she has a strong pimp hand, haha!

I love #6 what a fabulous image..... tho for myself I'd most likely have gone for B&W (but only cause I LOVE b&w especially if there is freckles involved :D ...)

I would be beyond the moon happy with these if I were their mother, these are great! My only nitpick is that too many of the best shots have their knees/legs up and bent and are too prominent in the image, grabbing my visual attention away from the faces. That said, and it isn't a salvation issue, just a minor point, the series is great, very much capturing the essence of their sister relationship. I really like these.

Your WB and Exposure is off on most of these. Hopefuly you've shot these in RAW and can fix those issues.
