Stand out? Why the focus on standing out? You say you're an amateur. Most amateurs take pictures because they love it. Standing out is nice, but it's not necessarily their foremost goal. Post your best shot in the critique corner. What you get back might be helpful.

Not being rude, just being truthful, as people with a camera are a dime a dozen but to stand out as a photographer you must set yourself apart with your work and be able to communicate clearly. |

I wish there was some "easy" answer - but there's not. Those pro's who "have their name out there", are typically very, very good... and you will have to also need to be very, very good to compete with them.
There are lots of photography technique "tricks" out there, but the key to fame is knowing how to use those techniques effectively and artistically.

That just my iPhone auto correction it's a piece of crap, but I understand where you're coming from... And as of standing out, Id like to take pics of ton of new things and I just don't know what's out there, so I'd like to gain ideas from others, so I don't mean stand out, just become connected... I appreciate all advice

Mostly DPP. I've been known to use LR, PS CS5 or Paint Shop Pro, even IrfanView. But as far as I'm concerned, you need to get it in the camera, not in the computer.

Depends on your style . . . But if the photo isn't well exposed and composed, even the most awesome editing skills won't save it.

On top of LR it will be good to have an "image editor", something like Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, something that enables you to do more "sophisticated" editing than Lightroom provides. But Lightroom can do a heck of a lot!
