Default Anti-Aliasing Removal from 5d II or III?

Now that Nikon has a 36MP without the anti-aliasing in the 800E, I wonder --while we are waiting for Canon to do the same--if there is any way of having the anti-aliasing in the 5D II or III removed?

This might be a fantastic idea for those of us who don't shoot textiles or air vents, don't worry about the moire effect, and want the added sharpness.

The D800e has a filter, it's a weak filter.

These folks will probably remove it for you, contact them.

Are you shooting video? for the 5d2, you might want to take a look at the results of the AA filter from Mosaic Engineering, it's the VAF-5D2.

No, I don't do any video. I mostly photograph cathedrals in France. The definition of detail in patters of stone sculpture and stained-glass is the most important for what I do.

And are you sure it's absolutely necessary to remove the filter? With the right lenses and a tripod you'll get tack sharp shots.

I'm not seeing a heck of a lot of difference at maxmax in the sharpness with and without...maybe a bit. The moire is obvious. I'll stick with the AA. Thanks for posting that, I was wondering how much difference there was between AA and no AA.
