Where would I go? Wherever my heart took me! That is the only way to put yourself in position to take your best photographs...

For me it would have to be Cape Town, South Africa! I've been there 5 times now but not since I got into photography but the place is a gold mine. They have a city of 5 million that wraps around a mountain which on top contains a national park. At the bottom of the city the Indian and Pacific oceans meet which can be awesome to see. You can catch a boat over to Robbin Island and step inside Nelson Mandellas prison cell. Forests like I've never witnessed before, not to mention some extreme poverty to extreme wealth all living within 10 mins of each other and I would love to try and convey that somehow. Also when I was there I went to an exotic car showroom and they had a Pagani Zonda R which they only made 5 of in the world and there was one right before my eyes I mean just astonishing some of the things I saw there and I haven't even scratched the surface with this post.

Actually, maybe somewhere not normally thought of, but for some reason I have a burning desire to go to Mongolia.

I don't have $$$ but everybody tells me where to go
But if I had a choice. I'd love to do something like what Ewan McGregor and his pal Charley (Long Way Round series) did on their motorcycle. I'd do it in SE Asia like Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, then Philippines.

I do enjoy CapeTown. I think you meant to say the Indian and Atlantic oceans meet--not the Pacific. Also, there is a bit of controversy as to where they actually meet. Though I have been to Africa numerous times, I have not been to the Skeleton Coast and it is on my list. So is Norfolk Island, Midway and a few other Islands. Cheers, Steve |
