If he could chuck wood?

Nice...love that head popping up out of the log and that inquisitive face.
It's nice to see your nature shots again... they are always so interesting.

As long as he doesn't up-chuck.

Nice capture. I think your camera over-exposed the image a little because it was reading the dark tones. Since you allow image editing, I hope you don't mind me taking a few liberties. Working in PS, I brought the levels down and raised the darker tones a little and then added about 5% saturation.

I am not much at PS . . . and enjoyed a different look on the shot. Interesting what one can do, if they have the 'eye' and the skill(s).

But would chuck, chuck?

Is that a woodchuck? Or is it a yellow-bellied marmot (Marmota flaviventris)?

Woodchucks tend to be plainer in color, or at least all of the ones that I have ever seen. Marmots are closely related rodents.

Could easy be a Marmot Bob . . . but being in the wood, Would Chuck seemed a better title.

Nice photograph. I really like the the composition. The habitat adds a lot to the shot. I have seen similar animals but not with the striping I see on this one's face. Very nice and nice post processing from KaplanMultimedia.

I was searching for marmots one day in Yosemite. In the middle of this big pile of rocks, there were some marmot burrows, and standing at the entrance to one burrow was a baby marmot. The thing was so tiny that it must have been its first day to look outside. It looked like a miniature version of the adult marmot, and it had a little puff of black for a tail that was about the size of a shirt button.
