I gave the Bride and Groom 300 images to look through and pick out the 200 images they would like printing
200 was the agreed number they could have from the package they paid for Ok well im not sure which way to think about this, they only picked out 160 Dont get me wrong they were over the moon with the images i presented them, but still they only want 160 printing and im not sure how i should be feeling Also when i was sat with them having a coffee the Bride loved a certain photo of them 2 together looking out over a lake and i was sure this would be a photo she'd chosen for print, But this photo was not on the list. Is this a common thing i should get used to or are they being polite at the minute and im going to get sued for not delivering 200 prints

I wouldn't overthink it. If you're worried, you can draft up a release indicating they chose 160 prints when 200 were available.

What are they even going to do with 160 prints? I have six prints in my entire house, one's a 6x4, the rest are 30". Even if they're making an album that's a lot of prints.
Offer to let them to multiple copies of prints, for family and such. I got rid of my print packages years ago, there was practically no demand. It's much nicer to deliver a finished album.

Mmm, we also started out offering prints but got rid of them when we raised prices. It took me longer to get rid of canvases too, but eventually I realized the only physical things I wanted to deal with were discs and albums, and even the albums were troublesome unless couples specifically asked for them.

Yeah I have about 40 images from my wedding- 3 enlargements for the wall, 2 8x10s for my desk, and then the rest are 4x6s that are going in our guest book (we only had 10 guests... there's a lot of empty space in our guest book!). I have no clue what I would do with 160! And I only put 115 in my album so even in there I couldn't fit 160 images. Don't be insulted, be flattered if anything. You successfully told the story of their wedding in 160 images.

Thank you for your replies
Photos look so much better in glossy print im surprised people dont expect for more than 200 prints What is a typical package these days, A coffee table photo book and a DVD slide show and a minimal amount of actual prints for a wedding album?

But what do they do with all of those prints? They may look good, but if they sit in a shoebox, what's the difference?

Then i guess the tradition of getting the album out when guests and family come over as all but died out then
I got married 14years ago but still love to get the album out, i have resisted the temptation to scan our wedding photos and look at them on the laptop, it just doesn't have the same feel to it

Everyone I have seen only have a handful of photos in the house. Usually one in a front hall or living area, and one or two in the bedroom. The ladies are much more likely to have multiples on their desk at work, from what I have seen personally. To me, a bound photo album would have far greater importance.also, if you are only providing a CD, do you also provide the person with a release allowing them to get prints of the images on it? CDs are great but are still relatively useless unless they can put the prints to paper.

We are still in the low-end market (($1500), but we got rid of prints packages very early on. We provide a coffee table book and a CD of only the images in the book. Enlargements are available to be purchased separately.

I thought you were talking about individual prints... not an album. Which are you referring to?

back in the day the "album" was a book with blank pages that you inserted pictures in to by using the little stick on corner holders. (or tape) LOL. My mom still has several large "albums" of photos of the family from when I was a kid.
