Camera Settings – While shooing in low light it becomes very hard to freeze motion properly, You need atleast 1/250s Shutter speed to get good sharp images, to achieve that kind of shutter speed, your aperture must be set to atleast f/2.8-4 and ISO at 1600 and beyond. You should always try to keep your camera on the Manual mode to have full control on all the settings, Most people prefer using the AV mode but while shooting concerts, lights constantly keep on changing and so will the settings. It is better to use the Manual Mode and change your settings accordingly.

This is all dependant on lighting conditions, while I do agree Manual mode is a lot better
