My recent couple emailed me and asked how much a photoblog would be? They were going to order an album (no problem, I was gonig to start the layout) but a photoblog?
Other than a photographer's website and event blog, is this a new trend? Comments please so I know how to respond back to them. Thanks, Don

That really depends what they want. If they just want the best images blogged I do that already, but if they want a whole new website made for them that takes more time. A permanent gallery on your existing website may be easier.

They already have a gallery and can create a "favorites" folder and use that to invite friends and families to view - If so, then they don't really need a dedicated website.

I'd do it for free, though I wouldn't guarantee how long it would stay up, I would say it will be best effort but it may be lost in my next website revamp.

I take Tim's approach exactly. In my case, using Zenfolio where I already have everything stored anyway.

I have seen couple do a blog about their wedding.
So are they asking for a blog or a website to host their wedding day images?

This is what they wrote in the email: "We would also like to purchase a photoblog from you. Can you send over some quotes?" I'm waiting for them to clarify as to exactly what they want.

Same here...all their images are in Zenfolio already. I can recommend them to simply create the favorites folder and share their selected images with the guests, family & friends.

It does sound like they want a blog that they can post images. I know some couples even buy their own domain name.

I'm asking them of some examples or the exact idea of what hey want...wether it is a domain/website or a blog template...I still don't know which way to go with this.....pending their reply. They're cool with em,ail communication during the weekday hours. In the beginning I thought it was a new online wedding photoblog trend that I missed out on. I almost said, isn't that Facebook? LOL

sounds like a bit of clarification as to what they think a photo blog is and what we think a photo blog is. My guess is they are looking for something facebook like with easy access.
We use emotion media and do the video slide show thing. plus we get them a copy that they can use. We also host their shots on photobiz for 30 days. Not sure what they are really after so sounds to me like a little talk will be necessary |

Alright, client got back to me and the original message was sent through her iPhone, which auto corrected "photobook" (album) to photoblog. Ok glad that was cleared up. For a while I started doing research on online photoblogs of newly married couples. LOL
