Default my 1st Andromeda of the year...

I tried out my new dark place to shoot, and I actually did NOT have to use any LP filter. This id definitely my best image of M31 yet. I got nearly 2 hours of data before the sunlight started creeping up. Atmosphere was very dry and the sky was the darkest I've ever had the pleasure to shoot in. Hopefully I'll get to image from here more often.

seeing 9/10 green zone LP
Sky-Watcher PRO 80ED with focal reducer
Canon 60Da
CGEM guided with LVI2 and Orion ST80
Stacked in DSS and processed with PS
with Troy's actions, Gradient X Terminator, Noiseware Professional

34 x 3 min Lights
20 Darks
40 each of Flats, Dark Flats, Offset

I'm still working but they don't seem to want to come out well. I probably need to sleep and mess with it later

Tell me about it. I'd been up for 44 hours when I was working on these... I pressed the power button twice instead if the "esc" button just below it. I decided I'd better go on to bed. Being awake and cognitive are 2 different things

You guys have all the good looking galaxies up there. What was the focal reducer (or the effective focal length of the setup) and is the image cropped ? Hopefully I'll get a chance to image it later in the year and I'd be pleased as punch if I could get something like that.

It was a Celestron .85X focal reducer which took the focal length down from 600mm to 510mm. And there is only a very slight crop. I usually do a small crop on every image just to take away the data from the very edge of the image. Last year I shot at 600mm and it put Andromeda completely from corner to corner, and I probably lost just a bit from each end.
