Haha. Personally, my photos turn out a lot better on a day that I'm 'wife-less'. When you see a shot that you think would be better about 6 hours later you don't get the, "We were THERE earlier."

Your shots are some of the classics. How they turn out is greatly influenced by season, time of day, cloud formations, and atmospheric conditions. The valley can be quite hazy during summer days.

Nice composition on these. My suggestion for next time is to invest in a circular polarizor filter if you enjoy shooting landscapes. It will really help saturate the sky and minimize the haziness of photos, and bring more contrast detail into the clouds.

I was using one I took other pix where the clouds pop, but I felt the sky was to dark and over exposed looking.

I've found that family and "serious" photography usually don't mix...LOL!

It's hard to blend a serious shot with a little one tugging on the pant leg...you did a nice job and I'd go for the circular polarizer and be sure to shoot in RAW with some good software ready to process...good photos and continue to have fun!

Lots of truth there for me, Mike. My wife is not rushing me or anything, but I cannot help to feel I am being rushed, so I cannot get into it enough unless I am by myself and that is when I get the better shots.

Nice photos! I wish i could be there to climb some of those unbelievable walls!! =)

As to ideas, i think a polarizer would help. It would darken your sky, help with the "haze" and give you a bit more contrast! Try to get one from a friend and give it a try, so before your next trip you can decide if it is good investment for you (by the way, they are quiet cheap)...

Lol I did use a polarizer..... Circular too...lol

And yes it's amazing, I saw a few climbers and I'm out of words for the climbers, it's amazing to attempt that, saw some tents staked out on the edges too

I'll post a few more shots (if anyone would wanna see) hopefully these will show my polarizer in use lol, maybe I thought they were over exposed because of the darker sky..

Wonderful photos!
Another place I talk about visiting, but never seem to get there.
Your photos make me want to start planning a trip.

I peaked at your exif data and I saw F9 on 2 of them so it looks like you were using the sweet spot for most lenses. Don't be afraid to shoot RAW +.jpg , that gives you the chance to even use Canon's DPP to do a little exposure tweaking and control your inital sharpening. Keep in mind few people post many shots straight out of the camera in these sections without doing a little be of playing in post processing.
