Off the path places to shoot

Hey everyone,

I am headed over to San Diego, California next week and was wondering if anyone knew of any good off the beaten path places that warrant good photos. I don't really have a style yet as I am still trying to fully discover who I am with photography. I've never been to San Diego before and have looked up some of the more popular places to shoot and take pictures, so I was wondering if anyone had some know not so popular places.

Also, I am leaving for business in a few weeks for Baku, Azerbaijan and flying through Germany (Frankfurt) or Amsterdam. I'll have about 2 or 3 days I can spend in either place and was wondering other peoples thoughts on where they'd go. I've never been to Europe yet so this will be new for me.

There were a lot of photo opportunites in La Jolla just north of San Diego, I had some techincal problems and didn't get any good photos (so I'm going back). But here are the types of things I was trying for.

Just got back from Amsterdam, a lot of street photography opportunities but nothing I would say is off the beaten path. Lot's of interesting architecture and I did a lot of night photography there. But not what I would consider a photographic destination.

Hey! Thanks for the reply. The first two links you posted are great shots. I will have to add this to my list to check out. Also, thanks for the head sup about Amsterdam. I am not huge into street photography so this is good to note.
