Question Remove nest after little ones leave?

These little guys left home as of yesterday:

The nest is currently on my front porch lamp and I would like to move it. If I move it to a bush will it be used again or not?

Thank you

If you move it then they won't use it. I would just take it down and throw it away, but you should wait until the end of summer, because depending on what speices they may have another clutch, especially since you live down south. if you don't want them to nest there next then you should block the hole with something because chances are they will try and build a new nest next season. I wouldn't worry about taking it down, most birds don't reuse nests.

Adorable pic! I agree, wait until the end of the season then remove it and seal the hole. Looks like house finch babies I'm guessing? Here in Ca they lay 2 clutches a season on average I believe. I could be wrong.

Thumbs up Re: Remove nest after little ones leave?

Thank you all for the feedback. After no response on the forum I decided to leave the nest just in case. Very happy I did because another family may be in the making No eggs as of today, but the two have built the nest up quite more
